The purpose of this event is to enhance the well-being of Veterans and their families by advancing collaboration and partnerships between VA, Community Mental Health Providers, and Local & State Organizations.

We recognize your organization’s involvement and commitment to improving mental healthcare within our community. We hope to engage you in dialogue and shared strategies to provide availability and quality care for our military families.

Through participation in the upcoming Community Mental Health Summit, the Durham VA Health Care System (VAHCS) providers and local community partners can raise awareness about our local military population and to form and strengthen professional relationships with others providing mental health services.

Topics of discussion at this year’s Summit will include; recent changes in access to VA Mental Health services, Whole Health, Suicide Prevention Strategies, and improving the well-being of Veteran’s and their families. To embody these topics there will be a Veteran’s panel, Focus Groups, and a Panel of Experts comprised of VA providers and community partners to share information about their services for Veterans.

A significant benefit of the Community Mental Health Summit is the gathering of a wide array of expert voices to recognize our Veteran population and recommend needed services and solutions.

As a valued community partner, you are invited to join with other community providers, VAHCS professionals, state policy makers, government officials and Veterans to share your insights and aid in guiding our community’s continuum of care.
