On October 19th, 2019, a group of people dedicated to bringing an end to veteran suicide will ruck together from Crooked Run Brewing in Leesburg along the W&OD Trail to Crooked Run Brewing in Sterling.. This event is about breaking the stigma and talking about veteran suicide, and bringing people together over drinks and food. We are all our brothers keeper! Hosted by Peril Adventure Wear and Crooked Run Brewing, benefitting Mission 22. All participants are required to raise funds for Mission 22 via Fundly, found here on the Eventbrite http://fundly.com/the-crooked-ruck Sharing on social media works great! Spread the word! We don’t require a set amount, just try your best!
100% of profits (after event expenses) from the event admission will be donated to Mission 22. Come join us in Sterling at the conclusion of the ruck for live music, good beers and food, and a great time!
Admission includes an event performance t shirt, beer, and a ride back from Sterling to Leesburg, as well as “mission support”. A support vehicle with first aid items, water, and snacks will be supporting the ruck and able to provide simple aid and a place to fill water. *** Please include your shirt size during sign up***
Although there is no weight requirement, we ask that you bring a durable bag or “ruck” to carry at least 64 ounces of water, and an extra pair of socks and some snacks are recommended. This will take place on the W&OD trail, so it’s Paramount that we stay as tight to the right of the trail as possible during the ruck. Good shoes are also highly recommended, they don’t have to be hiking boots but they should be able to hold up during a 12 mile ruck.
