How far can you go?
Run the Rock Endurance Challenge is meant for all skill level runners, ruckers, and anyone else looking for a fun event to train for that supports a good cause.
Run the Rock will be supporting GallantFew and Mission22, organizations that have made it their mission to increase the quality of life for our veterans and service members. Your support of this race will ensure that both of these organizations continue to make an impact in the veteran community.
The course will be loops of the Mountain Laurel trail at Raven Rock State Park.
Raven Rock is a North Carolina State park located in Harnett County North Carolina 30 minutes from Raleigh and 30 minutes from Fort Bragg.
NC State Parks describes the Mountain Laurel Loop Trail starts at the Moccasin Branch Road access. This trail is a newly constructed, natural surface, beginner level mountain bicycle/running trail built to accommodate hand cycles.
This very scenic trail with winding turns and gentle slopes traverse through diverse ecosystems with stands of pine and hardwood timber.
Mountain laurel occupies much of the understory along the trail as it travels across the contours of the north facing slopes, while the southern exposures provide more open forests for longer range views across the landscape. The trail is not stroller accessible.
Headlamps/trail lighting will be required to start the race and will be verified at check-in (12-hour participants only). Waivers will be completed on the day of the event.
The home/start aide station will be available at each loop in the entrance parking lot with a smaller water/ medical staffed station at the halfway point on the trail.
This trail is ideal since it will allow runners to return to the main aide station and restrooms after every 6-mile loop or this can be bypassed to allow longer stretches of running.
Photo ID required for check-in.
Dress according to the weather. Individual aide station set up and support encouraged. Set up location on first come first serve basis.
Runners/walkers and Ruckers will have the opportunity to log as many miles in their allotted race category.
Registration cost includes a t-shirt. Top 3 in each category will receive a Run the Rock Endurance Challenge award.
Merchandise from GallantFew and Mission 22 will be available.
Join us to celebrate the culmination of the Run Ranger Run Campaign and show support for Mission 22. Challenge yourself. Create new goals and meet a community of like-minded people who have a passion for Veteran appreciation.
